Corinthian Women

The Corinthian Women (TCW) is an active group of women members who plan and participate in many club events. TCW meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Board Room and all women club members are welcome. It's a great way to get to know people in the club and play an active role! Our members include moms, professional women, retired women, sailors and women who get seasick! We always need volunteers to support our activities and the operation of the store. If you would like to get involved please attend one of our meetings. Our activities include social events such as Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt and Santa's Brunch. We host an annual luncheon and are active in Easter Seals on the Bay day. We also operate the Club Store, which sells clothing and accessories appropriate for boating with the club burgee. We host an annual Women's Sailing Seminar that attracts both club members and participants from all over the bay area.
We also support the club with needed gifts purchased from the profits from our club store.

We try to make the lectures fun and entertaining without compromising an emphasis on SAFETY. Participants rotate through stations where they receive individualized help. Stations include: learning terminology, tying knots, handling line, cleating, and sending a radio message. Using the Radio Tying Knots Handling Line Cleating Learning Terminology Understanding Safety In the seminar, you are on boats and/or on the water about 60% of the time. All boats have a "skipper" who is generally the boat owner. We also have an "instructor" on the boat and try to have that be a woman. Typically, there are 4-5 new sailors on each boat. During the seminar, there are two receptions to which we invite your family and friends. We have great food, iveaways, and, of course, wine and champagne - we are women after all.
