Wooden Boat Show

Wood you miss this?  We didn't think so!  This weekend, CYC plays host to the wooden boat show sponsored by the Master Mariners Benevolent Association.  Corinthians and Friends are invited to come by the ol' clubhouse on Sunday and enjoy the rich smell of tar and varnish (always the sweeter when applied by others) and enjoy the classic lines of these beautiful vessels.

Saturday evening, there's a buffet dinner and party at the club, Corinthians and Masters mingle.  Sunday is the Show, and Sunday evening we welcome back the Benicia Cruisers at a great buffet dinner!

Apart from a sad lack of giant squid, this is one of the favorite events at the club.  Music, sunlight, wonderful visiting boats.  Oh yes, the bar will be open too.  Fun activities for the kids.

But There's More.

Corinthians are invited to preserve our own Master Mariner.  Freda, built a year before CYC's founding, served as CYC's flagship for many years.  She's undergoing a total refit at Spaulding boat works.  Corinthians are invited to "read all about it" and then contribute to preserving this bit of floaty history and bringing her 'round the club from time to time.  Check it out.  Pitch in!
