Notice
The series, comprising six races, is organized by the Corinthian Yacht Club of San
Francisco. The series will be conducted according to the Racing Rules of Sailing
2009-2012 and will begin March 21, 2008, (first gun at 11:55). The race is open only to
Corinthian Yacht Club boats that have submitted an entry form by 11:00 on the day of
the first race they wish to enter. The races will be scored under PHRF or one-design
rules as appropriate and as further specified in the Sailing Instructions. The Race
Committee may modify ratings, and may assign ratings to boats without 2009 or 2010
YRA PHRF certificates or established one-design ratings.
Races
There will be six races, with divisions as specified in the Sailing Instructions for each
day of racing. In addition to the Corinthian Challenge Perpetual Trophy, daily trophies
will be awarded based on the low point scoring system (RRS Appendix A) as further
described in the Sailing Instructions.
The Corinthian Challenge series (six races with one throw out)
★ March 21, 2010 (Sunday), the first challenge: three short races in Raccoon Strait
★ May 29, 2010, the second challenge: a pursuit race and grand tour of San Francisco Bay
★ July 31, 2010, the third challenge: Skipper's choice of a short race or a long race
★ August 28, 2010, the fourth challenge: windward, leeward, windward (maybe twice)
Place
The races will commence in the waters off the Corinthian Yacht Club and finish off the
CYC race deck. The races will take place entirely within San Francisco Bay.
