Cruising Rules

Corinthian Yacht Club Cruising Rules

1.      Courtesy to Cruise Leaders and host clubs requires that reservations and cancellations be made as early as possible.

2.      Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. For many destinations berthing is a limiting factor. In that case, a waitlist will automatically establish itself on the sign-up sheet after the number of guaranteed berths is exceeded. Those on the waitlist will be updated as to status.

  1. Information requirements are: name, boat name, length, beam and draft, number of persons for whom you will be paying fees and meal preferences, if applicable. Club guests aboard or those driving should also sign up indicating how many they are, where staying, etc.

  1. Cruise reservations and cancellations may be made by 1) using the sign-up sheet at the club or 2) a phone call or email to the club office and cruise leader. In the case of a cancellation using the sign-up sheet, the canceling member must also notify the club office or cruise leader.

  1. Cancellations will be accepted no later than the Saturday, at noon, prior to the first day of the respective cruise, unless an earlier cancellation date has been established by the cruise leader and posted. Members not canceling by contacting the club office or cruise leader prior to that time, or by not showing, will have their club account charged applicable fees. If the cruise is “sold out” then late canceling members may be relieved of paying when others substitute.

  1. Where meal service is negotiated by the cruise leader to be provided by the host club, caterer or a restaurant, or special activities are planned that have minimum attendance with associated financial requirements, priority on the sign-up sheet will be given to Full Participants. Further, in such situations where berthing is limited, payment for meals or other special activities are mandatory for all adult CYC attendees, unless in the case of meal charges, special dietary requirements cannot be met.

  1. CYC cruisers will respect and obey all rules and regulations of host clubs and act as ambassadors of goodwill for our club.

  1. Pets are allowed on CYC cruises subject to host yacht club house rules. When considering bringing a pet, please check with your Cruise Leader who will either know or research a particular club’s rules on pets.

  1. Cruise participants may, with the concurrence of the Cruise Fleet Captain and Cruise Leader, be subject to pro rata charges for incidental cruise expense overages provided that: first, all late cancellers and no-shows are properly charged and second, that all cruise expenses were properly accounted for and pre-approved by the Cruise Fleet Captain.  In this case, a summary of cruise expenses will be provided.
