Important Harbor Notice

Effective June 1, 2008 there will be a change in the manner in which the Harbor Management Committee (HMC) assigns available slips.  In the past each of the lines in the harbor had individual line Wait Lists.  These individual line Wait Lists have now been combined into a single Wait List.  The purpose of the single Wait List is to provide CYC members based on their seniority on the single Wait List, the flexibility to decide on the size of vessel and qualifying slip they wish occupy when a slip is available for lease.  See the 2008 Harbor Rules & Regulations for additional information regards this issue.

The HMC has constructed the single Wait List seniority ranking using the individual line Wait Lists seniority ranking and available records.  On April 15^th, a copy of the single Wait List will be sent by email to each listed member that has an email address as posted in the club roster.  This email will have a request for delivery receipt notice.  It is of utmost importance that the email recipient responds to the request for delivery receipt.  The HMC will use these responses to tally those members who received this email.  Any listed member, who does not receive this email on April 15, should promptly report his/her correct email address to the HMC at HMC@cyc.org and a single Wait List copy will be sent to these respondents

A copy of the single Wait List will be sent by U.S. mail to each responding member.

It is incumbent on every single Wait List member that feels an error in single Wait List seniority has been made to notify the Harbor Management Committee @ HMC@cyc.org or by U.S. mail not later than May 15, 2008.  A review will be made of every response and a current single Wait List will be published on June 1, 2008 incorporating changes as required.  The single Wait List will be updated periodically.

The June 1, 2008 single Wait List will be posted on the Corinthian bulletin board outside the main office and on the club web site at http://www.cyc.org.  The Harbor Committee will notify members of the availability of a slip by email, U.S. mail as required, posting on the club web site and posting of a hard copy on the club bulletin board outside the main office.

The individual line Wait Lists presently have over 200 names.  It is the Committee’s understanding that many of those listed presently do not own boats since Corinthian rules allow any qualifying member to be listed irrespective of boat ownership.  DO NOT DESPAIR AT THE LENGTH OF THE SINGLE WAIT LIST.  Members should recognize that it is to their advantage to be listed on the harbor Wait List if they intend to purchase a boat in the future.  You may apply for listing on the single Wait List by completing a Wait List request form available in the main office.  See the new 2008 Harbor Rules & Regulations for additional information on the single Wait List.

There are also new classifications for the harbor slips providing maximum and minimum dimensions of a vessel that may be considered for slip occupancy.  See the new 2008 Harbor Rules & Regulations for additional information.

The new 2008 Harbor Rules & Regulations are published on http://www.cyc.org and in the 2008 Members’ Handbook.  A copy of these new Rules & Regulations will also be posted on the Club bulletin board located on the harbor deck adjacent to the harbor master’s office.
