Love is in the Air

February... Short on days, long on events.

Feb 9: Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel Inspections Feb 16-17: Mid-Winter Races - Mar 2: Annual Crab Fest

Dining Room Closed Fri-Sun. Superbowl Chili SUN

Just a quick reminder (or first notice, if you are not checking the club calendar, the Dining Room will not be in service Friday through Sunday.

This is in support of the ancient Cooks & Waiters gentlemen's event. The event is ancient. Not the Gentlemen. Well mostly anyway. Anyway, the theory is that the cooks and waiters get the weekend off and the gents cook for themselves.

Not too late to sign up for that; contact DG to get in.

Live, In Person. Corinthian Yacht Club! Chili Weekend Coming Up

Oh sure, you can look at the live picture over at the left there. In fact, you can see this picture on the Members' Portal any time you want. But really, isn't it more fun to come on by and see what's going on?

And a Happy New Year to You

It's 2008. Do you know where your club is?

We're looking forward to a 2008 just as fun, if not more so, than 2007.

Seasons Greetings from your CYC

We hope that the holiday season treats you well and that it is all you hope it to be

The Clubhouse was hopping last night (Saturday) with almost a full house in the Dining room. Tonight should be a good night too. Here's a hint...order the ribeye or the lamb is there is any left on the menu.

Holiday Festivities are Upon Us: Decorate, Nog, Santa, New Years, Midwinters!

Ho Ho Ho!

Or, whatever Holiday Greeting floats your boat.

December brings us the beginning of what passes for winter in our blessed clime. You're probably wondering, "Oh, whatever will happen at CYC next?"

Oil, Veterans' Day, First Aid Class, Annual Meeting Update

Good Morning Members!

Oil

For those not immediately local to CYC, we're reporting that the CYC harbor remains boomed off (closed) as does the SFYC harbor and others around the bay. Big yellow floating booms protect various areas of the bay's shoreline from the oil.

Abandon Race: Nov 10. Also... Angel Island Closed.

In his final act as Rear Commodore, Allyn Schafer has Abandoned the final race of the Corinthian Challenge scheduled for November 10. His personal survey of the waters in which we would be racing showed a rather large amount of oil still in the water.

While the flushing action of the bay is helping to clear out our local waters, oil is likely being rereleased from the shoreline into Bay waters. Not only does traffic on the bay add to the harmful dispersal, but also oily water washing onto your deck would be either a nuisance or a danger, depending on how much you get.
