 San
Francisco adventurer and photojournalist James Martin had a vision when he was
shooting island images for various nature and ecological publications in the
early 90's. His
vision? To produce a book that would
cover ALL the islands in this great Bay. (Hint: there are 48 of them!) More
than just a pretty coffee-table companion, he envisioned a voluminous reference
book that would draw the reader in with imagery and keep them there with rich
stories. He began actively shooting images for the book in the year 2001.
Thousands of slides, several talented writers, and a few years later the book
was complete. This is a
special book that anyone who loves the Bay will treasure. Come join James as he shares spectacular
photos and stories about our beloved Islands of San Francisco Bay. James will speaking in the ballroom at the Corinthian Yacht Club on Thursday, October 2.
