The Corinthian Yacht Club Speaker Series

Paul Cayard

Wednesday October 8, 2003 (new date)
“Racing in the New Century”

Paul Cayard, Round the World winner, America's Cup skipper, and winner of too many classes to list here, will be talking about racing in the new century.

Having won world championships in the Star class, One-Ton, ILC 40s, first in the Whitbread Round the World Race, and having competed in 5 America’s Cups, Paul says its about time that he goes for the gold! His current focus is to represent the USA in the Athens Olympics in 2004 in the Star class. He has just returned from the Pre-Olympics in Athens, where he took a silver medal, and the Star Worlds, where he took eighth. Come hear Paul as he talks about his quest for an Olympic medal at the age of 44. And you may also hear an announcement about his participation in the next America’s Cup! Come join Paul for a memorable evening, next Wednesday, October 8, at the beautiful Corinthian Yacht Club.

The doors will open at the club at 6pm, and a buffet ($10/person) and a no-host bar will be available. Paul will start his talk around 7:00, and we expect to wrap up around 9:00. Admission is only $10 per person, and proceeds will be donated to BAADS, the Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors.
