Angel Island Cruise (with optional moor outs Friday & Saturday nights)
Reservations are allowed from 11/13/2018 to 6/1/2019

Please join your fellow cruisers to this year's Cruise Out to Angel Island, including a potluck picnic, picnic games, guided hikes and tours!

Our cruise is planned as a one-day event on Saturday, June 1, though overnight moorings are available for Friday or Saturday nights for those interested.
Don’t have a boat? No problem! You can join the festivities by taking the Angel Island Tiburon Ferry, which is available to the public, runs multiple times through the day, and costs $15 round trip (cash only).
Please note - no dogs are allowed on the island.

We recommend boaters arrive at the docks in Ayala Cove by 10 AM Saturday to ensure availability of a slip or mooring, as these cannot be reserved in advance (bring cash or check for payment).
Dock slips cost $15/day, and you can stay until sunset. Moorings are $30, and you can stay overnight on your boat. Boats can raft-up at moorings for a reduced fee for additional boats.
If you’ve paid for a mooring, you can use your dinghy to get to the dock and hangout on the island until 10pm before retiring to your boat for the evening.

Once you arrive, come ashore to enjoy the day’s festivities. There will be many activities to choose from depending on your desired activity level.
We’ve reserved a private picnic area in Ayala Cove (‘The Platform’) for the day.  If you would like a laid-back day, feel free to hang out at the picnic area or beach.
For those interested in more adventure, there are a variety of choices.  Eric will be leading a group hike up to the island peak, Mt. Livermore, ~4.5 miles round trip.
Stacey will lead a group walk (0.7 miles) from the cove to the US Immigration Station (the “Ellis Island of the West Coast”), where you can join the organized one-hour tour at 11AM ($7),
or take a self-guided tour, before walking back. There is also a 1-hour tram tour available starting at 11:45AM (~$17),
as well as bicycle rentals and Segway tours (cost TBD; Segway tours must be reserved in advance at www.angelisland.com).

After our active pursuits, let’s all meet back at our picnic area by 1PM to enjoy a lovely potluck lunch.  Please bring an appetizer, side dish, or dessert to share.
Warren Lee has kindly offered to be our grill master for the day and will be grilling up some delicious, gourmet burgers.  We will ask for a small donation to cover the cost of the private picnic area and burgers (~$10/person).
We plan to have some fun games available for those interested, such as bocce, cornhole, and badminton, and we encourage folks to bring along their favorite games as well.

Overview of day’s activities:
- Arrive at Ayala Cove by 10 AM
- Hike to top of Mt Livermore with Eric at 10:30 AM
- Walk to Immigration Station with Stacey at 10:30 AM
- Tour Immigration Station at 11 AM
- Take Tram tour of Island at 11:45 AM (get your ticket at the Café)
- Meet back up at “Platform” picnic area by 1 PM

Things to bring:
- Cash or check for ferry or dock/mooring fees
- Side item to share for potluck
- Your favorite beverage
- Snacks and water for your hike
- $10/person for burger and picnic area rental

There should be a variety of activities for everyone, and we hope you join us on this Cruise Out and have a wonderful time!
For those leaving by public ferry, boats typically leave every hour on summer weekend days.
For those with their own boat in a dock slip, you must depart by sunset, and for those on moorings, you can stay on island until 10 PM and then return to your boat.
